HOLIDAY PROGRAMS
Christ in the Passover shows the link between the ancient Festival of Redemption and Christ as the Lamb of God—your church members will never forget it! This sermonic demonstration is visual, so the congregation will actually see a table set with traditional Passover items. The missionary uses Scripture as well as the visual items to walk through a Jewish Passover seder, weaving the story of the Exodus together with the life, death and resurrection of Christ. The words He spoke in the upper room come alive as each Hebraic item is carefully explained. Many churches finish this powerful presentation by celebrating communion, and most who have tell us that Christ in the Passover has deepened their church's communion experience.
Christ in the Feast of Tabernacles. This sermonic demonstration also uses dramatic visual aids to paint a picture of how Jesus fulfilled the Festival of Sukkot (also known as the Feast of Booths or Tabernacles). Our missionary will actually set up a small tabernacle from which he or she will use various props to explain the traditional and Christological significance of this holiday. Jesus' claims to be the Light of the World and the Living Water pop into perspective as the meaning of this holiday unfolds.
The Hanukkah Message recounts the story and significance of this holiday. In 168 BC, the infamous Antiochus Epiphanes, ruler of Syria, defiled the Jewish Temple by sacrificing a pig on the altar to the god Zeus. Three years later, Mattathiah the priest and his five sons (the Maccabees) drove the Syrian invaders out of the land and rededicated the Temple to God's service. Also called the "Feast of Dedication," this festival commemorates the Maccabees' victory with the lighting of the menorah, a nine-branched candelabrum. Jesus taught in the Temple on Hanukkah (John 10:22). This message will help you discover him as "the light of the world" to whom we dedicate our lives.
The Gospel in the Feasts of Israel points out something that many Christians do not realize: Jesus made many of His messianic claims in the context of Jewish feasts and festivals. This message, based on Leviticus 23, gives an overview of these holidays which point to Jesus and which He is known to have celebrated. The Gospel in the Feasts of Israel can be split into either the Fall Feasts or the Spring Feasts of Israel—depending on the season and the particular interest of your church. This message is particularly good for churches wanting to know more about how Jewish customs and traditions illuminate the Gospels.
HOW TO WITNESS
How to Witness—Jewish Evangelism Seminars. We've found that if you can witness to a Jewish person you can witness to just about anybody! By hosting a "How to Witness" program, your people can glean valuable tips on presenting the gospel to Jewish friends and "not so Jewish" friends alike. These seminars provide insight into various objections to the gospel as well as conversation techniques, understanding Jewish sensitivities and more. Seminars are usually set up for a Saturday morning or for adult Bible classes, and are often given as a series.
BIBLE MESSAGES—Jewish style! Exciting, edifying and evangelistic are the three ways to describe our speakers. Whether it be biblical exposition, prophetic study or personal testimony, Jews for Jesus missionaries are well-informed, articulate and personable people who tell their story in an unmistakably Jewish way. Their testimonies are refreshing—both you and your congregation will be encouraged to see how God is touching the hearts of Jewish people today. All Jews for Jesus representatives have carefully prepared messages which are reviewed by our top staff to give your church our best.
