Prayer Points

Shalom, dear prayer warriors,

With everything happening in the Middle East, one can forget that Russia and Ukraine are still at war, with many Jewish people caught in this conflict on both sides. Wonderfully, we have missionaries sharing the gospel and ministering to those enduring immense pain and suffering on both sides.

But God has so composed the body, giving greater honor to the part that lacked it, that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together. (‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭24b‬-‭26‬)‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

Please join us in praying for:

  • the church with Jewish and Gentile believers in both Russia and Ukraine. Pray that the Lord will strengthen them, build their faith and give them great courage to share the gospel;
  • the Jew for Jesus staff in Russia and Ukraine who not only face the dangers of the war but are under threat from suspicion without and within. Pray for the Lord's grace upon them, to refresh them as they serve and provide them with more opportunities to share the hope found in Messiah, especially in the midst of death and war;
  • Jewish people in South Africa during the Feast of Shavuot -- which is connected to the giving of the Law at Sinai—to recognise that the Law of Moses points to Yeshua. As Jesus said, 'For if you believed Moses, you would believe me; for he wrote of me' (‭‭John‬ ‭5‬:‭46‬). Shavuot will take place on 21--23 May this year;‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬
  • South African Jewish people during this time of Shavuot to recognise their need for the New Covenant (Jeremiah 31:31-33) through Messiah, the prophet like Moses (Deuteronomy 18:15); and
  • Christians across South Africa to understand the Lord's heart for the Jewish people and their need for the gospel of Jesus, the Jewish Messiah. Pray that they will be emboldened to rise up and stand against anti-Semitism.
